Worship is Saturdays at 11:00 a.m., Bible study at 9:30 a.m., and you don't need to be a member to walk through any of these doors. ⛪Worship Message-Committed to Serve Elder Rick New ~ Matthew 21:28-31 In Jesus' parable, a father asks both of his sons to go work in his vineyard. One refuses, then changes his mind and goes. The other agrees, then never shows up. The question Jesus asks is simple: which one did what his father wanted? Elder New looks at three common barriers that keep people from answering God's call to serve, and at what happens when we get past them. The reward isn't obligation fulfilled. It's a life with real satisfaction and meaning. Everyone is welcome. If you've never visited, this is a great Sabbath to start. About our sermon series: Kingdom Culture: Becoming the Church God Intended is Pastor David's series on living the values of God's Kingdom in everyday life. Our middle and high school students will join the worship service and take part in the spiritual gifts training that afternoon. Youth Church returns October 10 and October 24 at approximately 11:30 AM in the Youth Room (left front of the sanctuary). Middle and high school students are invited to dig into the morning's sermon together in open discussion, and first-time visitors are welcome. In Isaiah 58, God ties true Sabbath-keeping directly to sharing bread with the hungry, and Jesus said plainly that it is lawful to do good on the Sabbath (Matthew 12:12). Feeding our neighbors on Sabbath afternoon isn't a break from rest. It's the Sabbath doing what it was made for. Far fewer have been told what they were actually built to do. That's the gap this seminar exists to close. Over two Sabbaths, our teaching walks through what Scripture says God has given every believer — and then hands you the tools to find out what He gave you, specifically. The morning messages tell you God gave you something. The afternoon sessions tell you what it is. Nehemiah rebuilt Jerusalem's wall in fifty-two days — not because he had more workers than anyone else, but because he put the right people in the right places. That is design, not luck. In the afternoon you'll complete your DISC personality assessment and learn how each profile communicates, receives instruction, and works alongside the others. Kingdom Culture Returns — October 10, 17 and 24 Our series Kingdom Culture: Becoming the Church God Intended resumes October 10 and runs through October 24. The series asks what it looks like when a congregation stops attending a church and starts carrying one — every member owning the mission, living Kingdom values in ordinary life. The September 21 gathering finalizes the plan, the details, and the meeting schedule for the season ahead, with open discussion time included. This is a planning session, not a therapy session. You don't need an agenda or a story to tell — an honest outside perspective is often the most valuable thing in the room, and first-time attendees are the ones most likely to supply it. Why We Do This on Sabbath Visitors sometimes ask why a congregation that keeps the seventh-day Sabbath spends Saturday afternoon hauling boxes. The answer is that we don't consider it an interruption of the Sabbath. We consider it the Sabbath doing what it was made for. When Isaiah described the fast God actually wanted, he named sharing bread with the hungry and bringing the homeless poor into your house — and then tied that same passage directly to honoring the Sabbath day (Isaiah 58:6–14). And when Jesus was challenged for healing on the Sabbath, He answered plainly: "It is lawful to do good on the Sabbath days" (Matthew 12:12). Rest and mercy were never in competition. Before any instruction, he remembered where Timothy's faith came from: his grandmother Lois and his mother Eunice. Then he urged Timothy to fan into flame the gift God had placed in him. This week, Pastor David looks at what it means to leave a legacy of faith, and why it starts long before the end. New students are welcome any Sabbath we meet. Partway through the worship service, students head to the Youth Room for an open, honest conversation about Pastor David's message. Each week takes a single Kingdom value — the way God's people treat one another, welcome outsiders, serve, take risks, and build something that outlasts them — and asks what it would look like lived out in Naples. September 5 — "Faith That Risks" (Joshua 3:13–17): The Jordan was at flood stage, and God's instruction was to step in. The water didn't part until the priests' feet were already wet. This message looks at what God asks of a church that wants the guarantee before the obedience. Sermons are posted online one week after they're preached. This ministry has served the Naples community for six years. Every month, on the Saturday following the second Tuesday, we set aside the afternoon to feed our neighbors. If you need food, come at 4:00 p.m. Drive through our porte cochere and we'll place a box straight into your trunk. Walking or riding a bike? You're just as welcome — you don't need a car to receive food. There's no registration, no paperwork, and no documentation of any kind required. First come, first served, until the boxes are gone. We'll also ask if there's anything you'd like prayer for. If there is, we'll pull to the side and pray with you right then. If you'd like to serve: Tuesday, September 8 at 12:00 p.m. — Truck offload. About a half-hour of lifting. Show up and help. Saturday after worship — Bring a picnic-style sack lunch and stay; we eat together in the Fellowship Room. Lunch is not provided on distribution Sabbaths, so pack your own — and maybe one extra. 2:00 p.m. — Packing begins. We fill Blessing Boxes with essentials for families across our community. No experience needed. Prefer to go home after service and return at 2:00? That works too. 4:00 p.m. — Distribution begins. We serve on Sabbath deliberately. Isaiah 58 names sharing bread with the hungry as the fast God chose, and ties it directly to calling the Sabbath a delight. Jesus put it plainly in Matthew 12:12: it is lawful to do good on the Sabbath day. This afternoon isn't an exception to the day — it's the day working the way it was designed to. Led by Andrew Krivda, Youth Church runs as open discussion tied to Pastor David's morning message — the students set the direction, ask the hard questions, and get honest answers. New students are welcome any Sabbath we meet. On September 26, the discussion runs parallel to the spiritual gifts seminar, giving students a chance to ask the same question the adults are asking: what has God actually put in me? It is open to every man — church membership is not required, and friends, family, and coworkers are always welcome. These two nights work together. The Mastermind Session on the 14th is the planning table. What this ministry becomes — the format, the focus, what these men build together going forward — gets decided in that room. If you've ever had an opinion about what a men's ministry ought to be, that's the night it counts. And if you've never attended a meeting, come anyway — no agenda required. A man who can say plainly what it would take to get him to come back is the most useful voice in the room. The Kick-Off Meeting on the 21st launches what the 14th shaped. If you've been thinking about coming, start here: everyone begins at the same place, so there's nothing to catch up on and no conversation you're walking into the middle of. Both are the kind of room where a man can stop performing and say what's actually going on. Questions are the point. Students who show up with doubts are in exactly the right room. A leader announces the dismissal at the appropriate point in the service and students move to the youth room — the front left classroom off the sanctuary. Saturday, August 22 — Pastor David Bracetti New Series: Kingdom Culture Message: "Choosing Servanthood” Mark 10:42-45 Part four of Kingdom Culture: Becoming the Church God Intended, a ten-week series calling every member to take ownership of our mission by living out the values of God's Kingdom in everyday life. In this passage, Jesus draws a hard line between how the world understands authority and how His Kingdom does. Among the nations, rulers lord power over people. Among His followers, the greatest are the ones who serve. It is one of the most direct challenges Christ ever issued to His disciples — and to us. Missed a week? Youth Church-August 29 Approximately 11:30am, led by Andrew Krivda Youth Church meets on alternating Sabbaths during the worship hour. This student led worship experience is designed specifically for them, with teaching, discussion, and space to ask honest questions about faith. No registration is required and visiting students are always welcome. Summer Women’s Bible Study Thursday 9/3 and 9/17 · 6:00 PM · 5050 Davis Blvd Led by Sharon Foster Two sessions remain in this summer's study, concluding September 17. The study uses an open-attendance format, meaning you can join at any point without having attended previous sessions. There is no preparation required and no commitment to attend every week. Bring a Bible; everything else is provided. Food Distribution Distribution: Saturday, September 12 · 4:00 PM Volunteer packing: Saturday, september 12 · 2:00 PM Truck offload: Tuesday, September 8 · 12:30 PM If you need food: In partnership with Midwest Food Bank, Naples Seventh-day Adventist Church distributes groceries to our neighbors once each month. This ministry has served the Naples community for six years. If you need food Distribution begins at 4:00 PM at the porte cochere on our property. You may drive through, walk up, or ride a bicycle — all are served equally. A vehicle is not required. Documentation is not required. There is no application, no proof of need, and no eligibility screening. Come as you are, and we will send you home with food. A prayer is offered with each person at the point of distribution. If you would like to help Volunteers gather at 2:00 PM to pack, immediately before distribution opens. No experience or prior sign-up is necessary — simply arrive and someone will put you to work. A second, smaller volunteer need comes earlier in the month: the Midwest Food Bank delivery truck arrives Tuesday, September 8 at 12:30 PM, and offloading takes approximately fifteen minutes. If you have flexibility midday on a weekday, text 941-877-5654 to be included. Because this distribution falls on Sabbath, the day begins with worship at 11:00 AM, followed by a bring-your-own sack lunch shared picnic-style in the Fellowship Room. Packing begins once lunch concludes. Serving on the Sabbath is not an interruption of our rest but an expression of its purpose. The September 14 mastermind is a working session to shape the direction, focus, and priorities of the ministry — men who want a voice in what this becomes should plan to be there. The first official meeting follows on September 21. Subscribe for updates: Men's Ministry Save the Date “What If...?” A Four-Part Seminar on How God Built You Saturdays, September 26 & October 3 Lunch 12:30–1:15 PM | Afternoon Sessions 1:30 PM (approximately 75–90 minutes) Registration requiredRegister Today What if I understood how God designed me — and were free to accept my gifts and use them to make a difference? What if I understood the way God made others to think and function differently than me? Would that change how I communicate with them? Would I appreciate them more? What if this church worked as a genuinely interdependent body? These are the questions this seminar exists to answer. Scripture is direct about this: every believer has been given something. Not the gifted few, not the naturally confident, not the people already on a platform — every one. Romans 12, 1 Corinthians 12, and 1 Peter 4 all say the same thing from different angles. What most of us have never had is help identifying what that something actually is. Afternoon Session — Saturday, September 26 Presented by Elder Rick New Completing the spiritual gifts identification process. This session helps each participant name the specific gifts God has entrusted to them and understand the purpose those gifts were given for. Afternoon Session — Saturday, October 3 Presented by Steve Krivda An exploration of the DISC profile and what it reveals about how you communicate, make decisions, and work alongside others. Understanding your own wiring — and recognizing that the people around you are wired differently — transforms how ministry teams function and dramatically reduces the friction that comes from misreading one another's intentions. What to Know Before You Register This is one seminar delivered over two Saturdays. Weekend two builds directly on weekend one, so participants should plan to attend both Sabbaths. Who can attend: Anyone who worships with us, high school age and older. Church membership is not required, and visitors are genuinely welcome. Lunch: Provided both Sabbaths by our Women's Ministry, 12:30–1:15 PM, immediately following the worship service. Childcare: Not available at this time.
